O Come Let Us Adore Him: All Year Long

Christmas is a time of joy
the source of which is not a toy

We celebrate our Saviour's birth
We pray good will and peace on earth

A songwriter says, "Jesus is the reason"
For our attitude of praise and thanksgiving "this" season

But why does it stop after a month and a day
Why do we let this good spirit fade away?

After we've vacuumed the last pine needle and the toys are now old
We return to complacency, apathy...we become cold

But the fire that warms our spirits and hearts
Burns season after season not just for one part

You see some of us turn "Christ" on like the lights on the tree
And when Christmas is over, we pull the plug...quickly

Thankfully, the Lord doesn't treat us this way
His love is eternal...not just for Christmas day

So as you gather with family around your Christmas tree
And you open your presents, that are wrapped so beautifully

Remember God's greatest gift was given to you and me
When He sent his son Jesus, to die for our sins on Calvary

Every good and perfect gift comes from above
God gave us Jesus.... what love, what love

Christmas is a season that we all hold dear
Let's carry its "spirit" throughout the year
