Overwhelmed By His Love

Sometimes we tend to overuse the phrase "I love you". We say it to people so often that it becomes cliche. Take a minute and think about how many times you say "love ya" in a day. Now ask yourself this question.."Do I really love everyone that I say I love you to or am I just saying it to sound nice? The word "love" is very powerful and if you really want to get a good understanding of what it means to truly love someone, read I Corinthians13 (the love chapter). God's love is one of the best things you can ever experience. It's awesome, it's mind-blowing, it's wonderful, and as Tony the Tiger would say it's G-R-R-E-A-T! When God says, "I Love You", you can believe that He means it. After all, he sent His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins..now that's love. So you see, there's no ifs ands or buts about it, you are loved of the Father. And the cherry on top is that His love is eternal, it will never die. When I think about how much God loves us, it makes me smile inside and out.

I wrote a poem to describe my feelings about God's love...it's simply called "Overwhelming".

You overwhelm me with Your love
Your unchanging, unconditional, stubborn love
After all the things that I've done that hurt you
You still never leave me alone
Yes, that overwhelms me
At times I just sit still and reflect on Your goodness
A tear begins to roll down my face
Not because of sadness, but because of the joy You have given me
Words can't describe, songs can't express my gratitude to You
I could never repay what You've done in my life
All I can say is that Your steadfast love overwhelms me
Just when I think about giving up
I feel Your hand guiding me to my good
So with a heart that is open, I will yield my life to You
My fears, my desires, my faults
I will be transparent
And after You've listened to my constant failures
You still will say, "I love you"
That, overwhelms me
God, You are overwhelming.

Let God overwhelm you today with His love! .
