Homosexualilty: Truth vs Lie

*Romans 1:26 says that because people turned from God, "God gave them up to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." (Note: "God gave them up" means that God let them go their own way.)

*1 Corinthians 6:9 says, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders...will inherit the kingdom of God." In Revelation 21:7 God says He will throw such sinners into the lake of fire. If people are born homosexuals, why would God condemn practicing homosexuals and call their acts "abominations"? And why did He wipe out Sodom and Gomorra?

*Influences that may predispose to homosexuality: Sexual or other abuse, remembered or not remembered; drugs, alcohol, pornography; a sensitive, creative nature that makes a boy feel different from the stereotypical macho male; evil companions; media such as television, films, and rock music; poor parenting; the devil; our own evil nature; the big lie accepted as truth today.

*Positive influences: The Lord, His Word, a transforming salvation experience, the Holy Spirit; steady Christian growth; the church, Christian fellowship; obedience to God's Word; living for Jesus Christ.

*QUESTION: Will you accept the truth of God's Word or mankind's illusion?
