The Truth Will Set You Free!

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and
searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

Dear God!

Why Am I Not More Successful?
by Gail Ramsey

Dear God!

WHY am I not more successful? I work hard. I try my best to live right. I serve at my church. But, for some reason, I just don't have the life I want. Where am I missing it?

Your Frustrated Son

Dear Frustrated,

"Where there is no vision, the people perish" - Proverbs 29:18

Many people wonder why they are not satisfied with their life. They believe that if they just "work hard" then all the rest should fall into place. Not so!

What is your vision? If you don't have a vision for your life, you will not receive from God as He has planned. Many go through life simply following in their father's/mother's footsteps hoping for the best, and end up miserable and unfulfilled. Why? Because your destiny is not necessarily the same as your father's, or your mother's, or your mentor's. God has a unique, perfect, special plan just for you.

What is a vision? It's the power to see. Vision is the power of perceiving by your imagination. It can also be a supernatural appearance involving the things of God. Vision is also setting goals. When you set goals for your future, you are giving yourself a picture/vision of what you would like your future to represent.

One thing is for certain, if you don't have a vision for your life, you will never be satisfied or successful.

Vision means seeing yourself the way you want to be. "As a man thinketh in his heart so he is." - Proverbs 23:7 If you are sick, you should begin to imagine yourself as healed. If you are lacking finances, you should envision yourself with all your bills paid, and needs met.

You must also make a commitment to your vision, or there will be no success. Expect to see your vision come to pass. If you expect to be successful, vision must dominate your life. Your commitment must be both spiritual and natural. You must make the right confession with your mouth, (as your mouth and your future are tied together); and take the right steps in the natural, (if you want to be a stockbroker don't go to medical school).

There are thousands of people who go to work in the morning, come home at night, and do the same thing over and over again. They have no vision, goals, or plans. They simply exist. I want to encourage you to set your eyes on a goal and follow after the vision God has placed inside your heart. What is it that gets you excited? That's a clue to your vision. If it seems impossible, it's probably God.

P.S. Halloween is the devil's high holiday. Keep your children safe!
