The Victory

At times life will throw you a curve ball,
     And you just can’t seem to get a hit.
The harder you try to get on base,
     The more you strike out and want to quit.
You feel like throwing in the towel,
     And saying, I give up, I can never win.
My opponent is too strong and very clever.
     How in the world can I score against Him?

Time and again you come up to bat,
     Strike one, strike two, three and you’re out!
Like a loser, you walk away feeling defeated.
     You begin to wonder, what’s this game all about?
There is more to life than meets the eye,
     You’ve been swinging at thin air, not knowing the way.
The score board shows that you are far behind,
     There are only a few more innings left to play.

It will take a miracle to beat the other team.
     The errors on your side have been increasing.
You have not even come close to scoring a run
     Because you continue to rely on your own understanding.

It’s time for a new manager to direct your life.
     Is there anything too difficult for the Lord to do?
Trust in Jesus, and you’ll live in the victory.
     He will show you how to become a winner too.

If you will begin to play by God’s instruction book,
     The whole game will completely turn around.
You’ll score the winning run and be the M.V.P.,
     A champion, who in Jesus, the victory has found.
