The Truth Will Set You Free!

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and
searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

Dear God!

Why am I so insecure?
by Gail Ramsey

Dear God!

Why is it that I always feel "less than" practically everyone else I know? I know we are not supposed to compare ourselves to others, or be jealous, but I just don't seem to ever measure up. What's wrong with me?

All Alone

Dear Alone,

You are not alone. Many suffer from low self-esteem and insecurity. This affects their attitude toward themselves and also toward others.

Insecurity, fear, and the frustrations experienced in childhood can cause people to have a jaded attitude toward the world and their place in it.

Here's the good news: God has crowned you with glory and honor. Get excited about it! God sees you as the apple of His eye! If you have made Him Lord of your life, He promises to surround you with favor!

The key here is to renew your mind with what God thinks about you and to get rid of all those old, negative, destructive thoughts that have come from a lifetime of listening to what others have said about you. God's opinion of you makes man's opinion irrelevant!

In John 17:22, Jesus said to His Father in heaven, "The glory which thou gave me I have given them" You have the same glory that Jesus had. Imagine God walking up to you today and placing a crown of glory and honor on your head. You would begin to EXPECT good things to happen. Insecurity would disappear.

As you begin to BELIEVE that God has crowned you with glory and honor and favor, you will SEE success blossom before your eyes. Your life will be different, because you will be different. EXPECT miracles to unfold before your eyes. Expectation is the breeding ground of miracles!

God's Word is true, and in His Word He says He loves you, He favors you, and He fights for you. He says that, "no weapon formed against you will prosper". All you have to do is BELIEVE Him, and your world will change. You are precious in His sight. "But you don't know the things I've done!" you say. I don't need to know what you've done because I know what Jesus did on the cross for you. He suffered and died so that you and I and the rest of His children could be spared the punishment we deserve for our sins and be washed white as snow by His blood. He paid the price so that we wouldn't have to.

Speak words of favor over and over during the day and watch God begin to bless you. Right now, begin to say out loud: "God favors me today. God honors me today. I am a success today. I have God's special favor upon me today. I'm expecting miracles in my life today. God is good!"
