The Truth Will Set You Free!

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

The God Of My Salvation

"All we like sheep have gone astray;"
Each and every one to his own wicked way;
Yet Christ did bear the iniquity of us all,
To redeem us from the curse of the law.
When we failed to keep God's holy commands,
Jesus displayed love, our plight He understands.
The divine Son of God paid the greatest price
When He became the perfect, acceptable sacrifice.

He was scourged with a whip across His back;
By His stripes we're healed, no good thing lack.
From the mock court where He was tried,
He went to the cross and there He died.
A crown of thorns was placed upon His head;
The soldiers gambled for His garment as He bled;
With His arms stretched out and opened wide,
They had nailed His body and pierced His side!
He was wounded for our many transgressions,
Bruised for our iniquities and misconceptions;
He was punished so that we could have peace;
Jesus paid in full for our pardon and release.

Lord, I know that I am guilty and to blame;
"God be merciful to me a sinner", in shame;
look upon my sorrow and hear my heartfelt cry,
forgive me of all my sins, O lord most high!

Dear Jesus, I do believe that you died for me;
You rose from the grave with power, triumphantly!
I call upon you right now to save my soul;
O God of my salvation, make me whole.
