ELEVATE YOUR MIND, CELEBRATE YOUR SOUL

Lord I want you to elevate my mind, take me to a higher place  
A destination reached only by seeking your face  
Lord I want you to elevate my mind, change how I think  
Past pain weighs me down causing my spirit to sink  
Lord please elevate my mind, forgive me I pray  
For the unspoken sin that birthed my soul’s decay  
Lord I need you to elevate my mind, no more sleepless nights  
Plagued with thoughts of my wrongs, because I’m afraid to do what’s right  
Lord, I’m asking you to elevate my mind, I’m ready to dig deep  
Pulling up those dark roots that make my heart weep  
And once you’ve elevated my mind Lord, I have another goal
That would be to celebrate my soul  
Celebrate my soul Lord, rejoice in my being  
My reflections? A new me that I’m seeing  
Celebrate my soul yes! Shouting I am free  
The elevation of my mind keeps me loving me  
Lord I celebrate my soul and it’s because of you  
Loving me first before I knew what your love could do  
Elevate my mind, Celebrate my soul  
Thank you Lord for showing me that both  
Of these elements make me whole.
