Dear God!

by Gail Ramsey

Dear God!

I am so discouraged! I just can't seem to pull myself out of this funk. Everything looks so hopeless…in my marriage, at the office, just life in general. I used to be so positive, but now all I think about is failure. How can I get back to my old self?

Dear John,

Change your thinking - Change your world!

God's Word says that we are to "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5)

Psalm 37 tells us that we are to "take every thought captive." You can't change your life by changing your behavior. You must change your thinking. Perception is more powerful than reality!

Science has proven that "The human nervous system cannot tell the difference between an actual experience and an experience imagined vividly and in detail."

Mark Twain said it beautifully… "In my life, I have suffered many terrible experiences. Some of which actually happened."

Our mind is the battleground. It's the way satan gets entrance to our lives, and the way God gets entrance to our lives.

The enemy sends assignments to clutter your mind…to cause doubt, fear, and failure. You need to replace those thoughts and words with God's word in order to have victory in your life.

"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7) That's what the word of God is for, to renew our way of thinking….to have a NEW WAY of thinking.

We often think that what we say is who we really are; but we've got to understand that what we think is who we really are. What we're thinking inside is who we really are.

For example: Someone asks how your doing, and you say "oh, great!" when inside you're falling apart. Who you really are is what you're thinking on the inside. "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." That's why we've got to pay more attention to the way we think.

Remember, our thought life is the road by which satan gets access into our life and the way God gets access. So we conquer, or take every thought captive with the Word of God. What is greater than any thought? The Word of God. What is greater than sickness? The Word of God. What is greater than poverty? The Word of God.

John, you CAN get back to your old positive self. Change your thinking…Change your world!
