Jesus' Word Is Offensive

1Peter 2:8 To those who are dissobedient, Jesus has become “ A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word...

Example, King Jehoiakim was so offended...

Jeremiah 36:23-26 Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll (Jeremiah dictated by God's authority), the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire. The king and all his attendants who heard all these words showed no fear, nor did they tear their clothes. acts 5:42 ...they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ...daily in the temple, and in every house...



Acts 21:30-31 ...the people ran together, seized Paul, and dragged him out of the temple; and immediately the doors were shut...they (even sought) to kill Paul...

Acts 26:20-21 (Because Paul taught)...that (all) should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. For these reasons the Jews seized (him) in the temple and tried to kill (him).
