The Poet's Pen Among the Rocks in The Stream

       I saw my reflection, 'twas not a dream;
The real me, who I had become,
       revealed in a moment by the shining sun.
The picture before me as I was still,
       took hold of my mind, captured my will;
As I gazed upon the water flowing,
       the thought occurred, where is my life going?
As I viewed my years unfolding by,
       my heart broke, I began to cry!
'Twas in the beauty of this peaceful setting
       my soul was exposed with its sins besetting.

A God of love there must surely be.
       What I ask, does He want of me?
Be still my soul and know thy God;
       Even the Saviour who shed His blood!
Out of the depths of His mercy and grace
       He draws me close to see His face;
In the person of His divine son,
       who died for my sins, every one!

Be still my soul and hear the Lord,
       be ye reconciled with Him in one accord;
He that has the Son of God has life,
       come out of your rebellion, sin and strife!
Be still my soul, receive Christ the Saviour,
       He will empower you to change your behavior;
There is a reflection that God longs to see,
       that is of His Son now living in me.
