The Poet's Pen Peace Be Still

On the high seas of life
as waves of doubt try to flood your soul
righteous child, cry out to the captain,
speak His word, let Him take control.

If you're suffering from the fierce storm,
discouraged by what has come your way,
there's hope, the captain can not fail,
remember, "peace, be still", He did say.

When the pirate would steal your joy,
your direction begin to slip,
your vessel be about to sink,
Jesus is able to guide your ship.

If your mast be broken in pieces,
with your sails torn and shred,
don't despair in your many afflictions,
Jesus will deliver, for you He bled!

Sanctification is a special process,
the captain of salvation is perfecting you.
It's through pain and irritation
that a pearl comes into view.

Just hold steady to the course begun
with faith and patience you will survive.
No more to travel the raging sea,
soon upon heavens shore you will arrive!
