Saved Prayer

       Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

       The Lord is coming! Now is the time to seek the Lord and to break up the fallow ground in our lives. Take time today to seek Him while He may be found. Jesus Christ is the only way to know God or be accepted by Him. He offers eternal life - and abundant life - to every man, woman and child. As stated so clearly in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Whoever includes you!

       God offers heaven as a free gift. The Bible says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23). Like any true gift, heaven cannot be earned or purchased. The Bible also says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

       The Bible says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved..." (Acts 16:31a)

       In order to receive the free gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, a person must be willing to transfer his trust from himself to Jesus Christ, accept Christ as Savior, accept Christ as Lord and repent of his sins. A person can do this by praying a simple prayer similar to the one printed below. It's important to understand, however, that the mere repetition of words doesn't save a person. It's what a person believes in his or her heart that's truly important.

        "Lord Jesus Christ, I know that I am a sinner and that it is impossible for me to save myself. But, I believe that You died in my place to pay the penalty for my sins and that through You I can have the gift of eternal life. Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive me for my sins and I ask you to come into my life, to come into my heart, and save me. And, I want to live for you for eternity. Amen."
