Gospel Music, Talent Search Rocked
International, a talent search agency with an office in
North Olmsted, recently sponsored a gospel music contest
in Northern, Ohio. Initially, 150 groups and solo artists
signed up for the opportunity to win an all-expense-paid
trip to AMTC (American Model and Talent Convention) in
Orlando, Florida, from July 22nd to the 23rd. The Field
of 150 was narrowed to 12 finalists who performed at
Parmatown Mall on Friday, June 5th.
Pete Figueroa, singing in the style of
Alvin Slaughter and Ron Kenoly, was selected as the
winner by a panel of 6 judges including WZLE?s Ron Cox
and Kelly Hertrick. Pete will now go to the AMTC, where
agents from all over the world, are scouting new talent.
Lord willing, we'll hear more from Pete Figueroa in the
near future, possibly on a Hossana label.
Meanwhile, Applause International is
already planning another talent search in Greater
Cleveland. What a witness for Jesus! Hopefully, they will
do it in the same or similar venue the next time around.
This type of healthy competition is unique in that all of
the competitors are declaring that everybody?s a winner
