Dear God!
I don't even know why I'm writing this letter, for there doesn't seem to be any hope
left inside me. Why is it so hard to live a good Christian life? Why can't I seem to find
victory?
Your depressed daughter,
Joni
Dear Joni,
..."A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." Psalm
51.17.
Hang on,Joni, your victory is just around the corner. Our lowest point always comes
right before our breakthrough!
Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He was beaten and nailed to an old bloody
cross. In the eyes of the world He was defeated, but in the eyes of God He was victorious.
Though you may feel that all is lost and hopeless, KNOW that it is not. That's a lie
from the pit of hell, trying to pull you back into a place of destruction. God said that
He would never leave you or forsake you, and God can't lie!
What you are feeling now, every Christian has experienced:"we are troubled on
every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair...knowing that he
which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with
you." Corin. 4:18,14
God is Faithful! and He will deliver you out of all your trouble if you hold on to Him.
Remember, God causes "all things to work together for good for those who love
Him" Romans 8:28.
Look back on a time where He performed a miracle in your life. Was He faithful then?
God doesn't change.
When we're in the wilderness, we must remember that God is performing a work in us;
and, if we choose to be obedient during this season, He will create a masterpiece!
On the other hand, if we choose to mur-mur and complain (like the Israelites in the
desert), we will have to take another lap.
God is raising up a strong end time army. The weak will not survive. And yet, it's not
through our power or might that we overcome, but by His Spirit.
Take a look at your expectations, Joni...what is the victory that seems to be escaping
you?
Does what you want line up with God's Word? If it does, then find every scripture you
can to back it up and claim those promises!Write them down, pray them aloud, sing them,
shout them, demand that the devil let go of what rightfully belongs to you!
Remember, when you RESIST the devil he must flee! He has no choice. That's why he tries
to keep you discouraged. But here's the GOOD NEWS: She who waits upon the Lord...
"shall mount up with wings as eagles.."
Victory is yours!
