Thanksgiving and Praise

I will greet each day
     with a thankful attitude;
offering up praise unto God
     with a heart of gratitude;
allowing no trial or trouble
     to cause grumbling in my soul,
through sunshine or cloudy days,
     God's grace is sufficient, this I know.

I can meet every obstacle and challenge,
     with faith and a confident outlook;
or doubts, fears and worries will come,
     when I don't live by God's book;
I can reside on Grumble Street,
     with all of its misery and pain;
or move over to Thanksgiving Boulevard,
     where there is hope and much to gain.

Amazingly, you too shall discover
     that prayers of thanksgiving and praise
will drive out ingratitude and discouragement,
     when you believe and choose God's ways.
If your life would begin to blossom
     with a fragrance that is Heaven's best,
remember thanksgiving and praise
     will help you to pass every test.
