The Poet's Pen The Lighthouse

Along the shore of the raging sea
      there stood a lighthouse I could see.
It made a difference on that fateful night,
      for I knew not which way was right.

A storm had blew in fierce and quick.
      I was fearful and worried, feeling sick.
My ship was damaged and going off course.
      What could I do to counter this force?

I was not prepared for the killer waves
      that took many lives and became their graves!
"O Jesus," I prayed, "what shall I do?
      If you are real, please lead me through."

That is when the lighthouse first appeared
      and Jesus calm and reassuring voice I heard.
You have called upon me this very day
      therefore I will save you and make a way!

Like the storm that tried to take me down,
      a sinful life will cause you to drown!
If your ship is struggling to make it in,
      look to the lighthouse and depart from sin.

Jesus is the lighthouse to guide your ship
      through every storm when the waves do rip.
Call upon the name of the Lord and believe.
      Your soul He will save, His light you'll receive!
