The Truth Will Set You Free!

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and
searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

Is Your Foundation Sure?

by Lore Smith
"Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain."
(Heb. 12:26-27 KJV)

Do you realize that everything that can be shaken will be shaken? What does this mean exactly? It means if our faith is not anchored before the crisis, we will not stand during the crisis. Our faith must be established on that which is infallible and impregnable. We must have an immovable place in our faith. That place is the Word of God. We have seen both political turmoil and economic turbulence. Power structures have been shaken in and outside of the Church. But we have not yet seen the great shaking that is coming upon the earth, a shaking unlike any shaking we have ever seen, and God is going to shake everything that can be shaken. Not the devil, but God.

This shaking is going to hit every ministry and church denomination. Are we prepared? There are things within our ranks that God has to clean up and get rid of, so that the Church will be able to stand without spot, without wrinkle, and without blemish before God.

Christian experiences are being shaken and are going to be shaken in a greater degree.Today, we live in a world where every kind of doctrine and theology is being thrown around. There are two reasons for this problem. One is the pulpit, the other is the pew. We can't blame the pulpit if we're so gullible to sit there in the pew and take it. It's so easy to criticize the preachers. We are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

There are Christians today who are too lazy or too busy to get in the Word and stay in the Word. They have their eyes on certain preachers and teachers, instead of searching the Scriptures to see if what they hear is the pure, unadulterated Word of God. We must "study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth." (II Tim. 2:14). One thing I have learned, truth is power! There is freedom when one has truth. "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." (Jn. 8:32).
God's Word is truth. (Jn. 17:17)

We need to be like the Bereans in Acts 7:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scripture daily, whether those things were so."  If we are studying the Word and allowing the Word to abide in us, we will not be shaken.

There are Christians today who are going around singing and shouting "Jesus is coming soon!"  but are not practicing what they preach. They believe the saying He is coming, but are so involved with the cares of this life they have no time to witness or pray for the lost; they have no time to spend in fasting and prayer; they have not committed and dedicated themselves...their time and energy to win the lost. Their hearts are still attached to the world.

God is not going to tolerate this so-called "spirituality". These Christians are going to be shaken.

ÊÒÉI will shake the heavens and the earth; and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the HeathenÉ
Haggai 2:21-22
